Ricardo Ayllón

Masculinities and Equity Consultant

Ricardo,has developed his career researching fields and collaborating for different academic institutions and civil society organizations promoting nonviolence, serving also as a workshop facilitator in various national and international forums.

He has specialized in the analysis of masculinities and is the author and co-author of various texts and guides for working with men produced by GENDES, A.C.

He is part of the Ethics Commission (FEMESS). He is co-founder of GENDES, A.C (Gender and development, Civil Association) and currently works as Coordinator in the Methodology Area, an institution dedicated to the development of respectful, equitable and egalitarian gender relations from the construction of non-violent masculinities and from work with men.

He has a degree in Psychology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and a Master’s degree in Humanist Education from the Humanist Institute of Gestalt Psychotherapy. He is a specialist in leading groups of Men against Intrafamily Violence from the CECEVIM model of the Training Center to Eradicate Intrafamily Violence in San Francisco, California. He was trained as a specialist in coordination of community groups from Reunion Therapy from the Institute of Reunion Therapy in Valencia, Spain.

He is a person committed to a culture of nonviolence and good treatment. He is convinced that addressing social inequalities starts from making hierarchical gender relations visible. He considers himself someone who seeks to open paths towards equality and well-being in the world.
